Discover Prep at MGGS

Create her future from strong foundations

The early years of a child’s education are crucial for their overall development and academic success. At Melbourne Girls Grammar, our Prep Program is designed to build a solid foundation for our students’ academic journey. Our prep girls are immersed in the foundations of literacy and numeracy. Their creativity, curiosity and ability to collaborate through strong communications skills is developed and prepares them for the next stepping stone in their education.

our Difference

One thing that sets our Prep Learning Program apart is our commitment to hands-on experiences and the use of technology to make learning come alive. We understand that active participation and interaction with concepts are crucial for young learners. For example, we incorporate BeeBot (early coding) instructions to navigate through a Fairytale Land map, allowing students to engage with technology while developing problem-solving skills.

Prep LEARNING program

In our Prep program, girls are inspired to learn, to build their confidence and to move steadily in their progress and self-belief. Foundation skills linked to literacy and numeracy are taught in ways that nurture creativity. We believe that a love for learning is essential, and by making the learning process enjoyable and engaging, we instill a lifelong passion for knowledge in our students. We also recognise the importance of making learning tangible and meaningful. Through interactive storytelling, manipulatives, and real-life objects, we help students connect abstract ideas to the real world. This approach lays a solid foundation for their future success as they develop a deeper understanding of various subjects.

At Melbourne Girls Grammar, our Prep program sets the stage for a successful educational journey, where girls are empowered, engaged and equipped with knowledge and skills they need to excel. We believe in starting early and providing an environment that inspires a lifelong love for learning. Book a tour today to come discover our facilities and programs for yourself.
