We are saddened by the loss of a treasured Old Grammarian, Barbara Tolson (Selleck), who passed away on Wednesday 26 December, 2018.
Barbara has been a much-loved member of our community since her time as a student from 1939-1942. She contributed to the Committee of the Old Grammarians Society for nearly 40 years, serving at times, as a member of the School Council where she chaired the Property and House Committee. Later, she became the School’s Heritage Officer. In 1980, Barbara was awarded Honorary Life Membership of the Old Grammarians Society in recognition of her service to the School and the Society. In 1994, the Early Learning Centre was named the Barbara Tolson Centre.
We are immensely grateful to Barbara for her incredible legacy and lifelong contribution to the School. She will be sorely missed.
In honour of Barbara’s life, we will be hosting a Service of Celebration next week at the Merton Hall campus, as led by Father Walter McEntee.
