Introducing Field Award winner Kate Faragher

Kate says the secret to her academic success is a “combination of hard work and asking for feedback and implementing it”. Away from the classroom, Kate is a successful hockey player – having helped her ‘rep’ team to victory at last year’s State Championships.

As part of her Community Action and Service, Kate gave back to the sport she loves by umpiring and coaching a team of players aged under ten. “I love sharing my knowledge with children who are following the same pathway I did,” she says. “It’s great to a role model to keep children playing community sport.”

“They need to stay healthy, be active and make friends along the way.” Kate admits the experience helped her develop leadership qualities and to be inclusive and encouraging of her mentees.
