Meet the 2023 Boarding Captain – Nindhi Supriyono

My name is Nindhi Supriyono and I’m honoured to be the 2023 Boarding Captain at MGGS. I moved from my homeland, Indonesia, to the MGGS Boarding House in 2019 as a Year 8 student. Leaving my family and boarding at a young age was a difficult choice to make, however the boarders and staff at MGGS have made my stay a pleasure. I received a very warm welcome, which made my transition from Indonesia to Australia very smooth.

The day school, as well as Boarding House, provides students with great resources to excel in studies, including a tutor who is available twice a week and multiple academic coaches across all studies to assist with assignments, homework, and exam preparations. I can proudly say that Melbourne Girls Grammar has supported me in numerous ways to ensure I stay on top of my grades.

My VCE subjects this year include Biology, Business Management, Visual Communication Design, General Mathematics, and English. In Year eleven, I also took a 3/4 subject class, Physical Education, which allowed me to prepare for my final year at school. I hope to study a Bachelor of Design when I graduate from MGGS.

I have immersed myself in the rich culture of MGGS, studying alongside fellow boarders from Hong Kong, America, Indonesia and regional Victoria. This has given me an opportunity to learn about other traditions as well as educate fellow Grammarians about my own traditions, including Ramadan, which I will be celebrating from 22 March to 20 April.

My time at MGGS has been beyond amazing! Each student who lives in the MGGS boarding house leaves with lifelong memories and a forever family.
