Meet Zoe

Students at Melbourne Girls Grammar are bold, courageous and dynamic, ready to meet the future head on. They define their own path through the choices they make and the opportunities they embrace.

ZOE: confident CREATor

Zoe Papadopoulos started at Melbourne Girls Grammar as a 3-year-old in the ELC. Her mum Elena says they chose MGGS after visiting on Open Days. They loved the learning environment and teachers and felt the School would give Zoe the support and opportunities she needed. She is certain now that MGGS was the right choice. For them, the MGGS community has become a second family, and they see how much Zoe’s teachers and support staff care about her development and learning.

“She gets to be a part of many exciting activities at school. Zoe has also developed friendships with girls and their families which will be lasting.”

Zoe says Morris Hall is a happy place to be. She loves seeing her friends each day, and learning new and exciting things with the support of her teachers. The stimulating environment and teaching philosophy of our Junior Years program have helped her build confidence, enrich existing talents and cultivate new interests through challenge and application. Zoe knows she can achieve anything she wants, both as an individual and for her community.

Zoe likes the way maths makes her think deeply, how it teaches her to put thoughts in order and to problem solve. She adores reading, especially fiction, and getting to research topics in cross curricular classes. Through exposure to a variety of learning experiences and resources, Elena says her daughter’s curiosity has been fuelled and she’s constantly eager to learn more about the many things she is interested in.

Public speaking has become a passion for Zoe. She relishes the opportunity to present in front of her class, or at an assembly, or when she is a part of some type of performance. Last year, she wrote a speech about growing up in a Greek household, practicing Greek traditions, cooking and eating with her family. She’s fortunate to regularly visit Greece with her brother, mum and dad, who want her to grow up feeling connected with family and her Greek heritage. This has sparked an interest in travel, and she is curious about and keen to explore many parts of the world.

In her spare time, Zoe loves to dance, sing, perform, read and write stories. She does private singing lessons at school, is part of the Morris Hall Choir, Voiceworks, and has also recently joined the Australian Girls Choir.
