The Retirement of Dr Toni Meath as the 12th Principal of MGGS

With a heartfelt blend of gratitude and sadness, I would like to inform our community of an important transition in the life of our School. After an outstanding period of dedicated service and visionary leadership, Dr Toni Meath has advised the Council of her intention to retire as Principal of Melbourne Girls Grammar.

Dr Meath’s tenure has been marked by her unwavering commitment to ensuring MGGS is a leader in girls’ education with an outstanding reputation for excellence and developing students with confidence and independence. She has set high standards for learning, inspiring every Grammarian to realise their full potential. Dr Meath’s vision has always championed the empowerment of girls – encouraging them to strive for their best, in and out of the classroom. Her leadership has shaped a vibrant, ethical and inclusive community with breadth of opportunities for every student, in which young women are encouraged to think deeply, act kindly and lead with courage.

The Council, on behalf of the entire School community, expresses its sincere gratitude for Dr Meath’s exceptional contribution and enduring legacy. Her profound influence will be felt for generations of Grammarians to come.

In preparation for this significant transition, the Council will shortly commence a comprehensive and consultative process to appoint the 13th Principal of Melbourne Girls Grammar.

We will celebrate Dr Meath’s remarkable achievements, and look forward to honouring her legacy, throughout the coming year. In the meantime, please join me in expressing our deepest appreciation to Dr Meath for her inspiring leadership and in supporting her as she prepares for the next chapter of her journey.
