Spaces That Shape Us

Nestled in the heart of South Yarra, Melbourne Girls Grammar and its historic buildings are a living testament to generations of empowered women. From the grand facades of our heritage-listed buildings to the vibrant energy of our Early Learning Centre, every corner of Merton Hall tells a story. And now, we invite our community to be part of the next chapter.

The historical buildings of Merton Hall have witnessed the evolution of Melbourne Girls Grammar from its earliest days to its current standing as a leading girls’ school in Australia. They have seen generations of Grammarians walk through their doors, each leaving behind a legacy of curiosity, courage and compassion.

The spaces in which students learn deeply influence how they grow. Our Early Learning Centre, in particular, the home of our youngest Grammarians, is a place where imagination is nurtured and foundational values are formed. It is here that the seeds of lifelong learning are planted – and it is here, that we now look to the future.

To ensure that our facilities continue to meet the needs of today’s learners, we have been asking for donations to the Building Fund for the 2025 Annual Giving Appeal – ‘Building Their Future Together’. This year, all donations will go directly to the Building Fund, supporting a much-needed upgrade to our Early Learning Centre. The planned facility upgrade will ensure that these early experiences take place in an environment that reflects the excellence we strive for in every area of the School.

Community support has always been the backbone of our school’s success. From alumnae and parents to staff and friends, it is the collective generosity of our community that has allowed MGGS to thrive for over 130 years. Now, we ask you to join us once again – to help us preserve the beauty and integrity of our campus while conserving inspiring spaces for the next generation of Grammarians.
