Entrepreneurs, Startups and Business Owners Community Connections Evening

We warmly invite current MGGS parents, Old Grammarians and recent graduates to our next Community Connections Evening to meet and connect with others working in the entrepreneurial and startups industries.

We will be joined by Old Grammarians Rachel Yang (2004), Partner at Giant Leap and an Advisory Board member for the Victorian Government’s Equity Investment Attraction Fund, and Jacqui Savage (2007), founder MedCorp Technologies and Mioplay, who also serves as Deputy Chancellor of La Trobe University, along with current parents Paul Perrett, Co-Founder of Firmable, and Ruy Franco, CEO of ThingsAt for an evening of discussion and connection.

Rachel Yang (2004)

Partner at Giant Leap

Old Grammarian Rachel Yang is a Partner at Giant Leap. Giant Leap invests in founders solving our most pressing global problems at scale across climate, health and people and has invested in over 30+ companies to date.

Rachel is also on the Advisory Board for the Victorian Government’s Equity Investment Attraction Fund and formerly the Chair of the Startup Network, a non-profit, grassroots organisation supporting founders through their startup journey.

 

Paul Perrett

Technology Executive

Paul is an experienced Australian technology executive and entrepreneur. His diverse experience spans key executive roles in two of Australia’s largest technology exits, a range of venture and private equity investment experiences and more recently as a founder of two startups.

Paul led the exit, as CEO, of MessageMedia a global messaging and communication platform. During this period, he led the business through an unprecedented period of growth, including establishing a market leading position in the SME segment in the US and the and then ultimately through to a sale to Sinch for $1.7bn in 2021.

 

Jacqui Savage

Founder MedCorp Technologies

Jacqui Savage is a globally recognised medtech entrepreneur and innovation leader with deep expertise in the commercialization, manufacturing, and global distribution of transformative medical technologies. She has successfully launched and scaled multiple medical devices across international markets, including founding two health-tech companies, MedCorp and Mioplay. Her work spans the full innovation lifecycle – integrating clinical insight, regulatory strategy, and advanced manufacturing to deliver products that improve patient outcomes and reshape healthcare delivery.
