Melbourne Girls Grammar Institute

The Melbourne Girls Grammar Institute (MGGI) is a global educational community hub, dedicated to innovation and leadership in education practices.

MGGI encourages participation in educational research, curriculum innovation, international outreach and fostering educational excellence programs with a specific focus on girls’ education.

In the past, opportunities to seek and share new educational strategies, collaborate with tertiary partners, and innovate with industry partners have been rare at best.

MGGI aims to change that.

MGGI facilitates high-quality professional learning for educations within our community and beyond. With a focus on growth and development we foster exceptional educators and professionals.

MGGI investigates new and responsive opportunities to prepare young people for life and work in the 21 century. These include developing relationships and programs with organisations that seek to better understand the challenges that young people today will face and what education systems can do to ensure they are prepared to address them.

MGGI is an organisation that bridges the gap between research and practice in educational settings. Through partnering with tertiary institutions and researchers, we develop more effective methods of research translation to positively impact the practice of educators and the lives of young people.

Through MGGI, the expert teachers at Melbourne Girls Grammar mentor and support pre-service teacher candidates from a range of Australian universities. Following a thorough induction, they are afforded the chance to take classes, engage with meetings and professional development, as well as observe expert practitioners across a range of method areas. All pre-service teachers are supported by both their mentor and the pre-service teacher coordinator.

Purpose

This is a space for educators and partner organisations to learn with and from each other through the sharing of ideas, research, and innovation. MGGI is an organisation that engages in:
