Girls Grammar strives to create a safe, respectful, nurturing environment
where each student feels connected to their peers, their School and their
community. Each member of the School community plays an important role in
promoting student wellbeing. Social, emotional and physical wellbeing is
considered essential to learning, and is based on effective communication
between students, staff and parents.
All
staff endeavour to develop positive relationships with students based on
individual differences, social and emotional needs. Through our curriculum,
students are encouraged to develop their morals, beliefs, life skills and
their respect for self and others.
House
Tutors, Year Level Co-ordinators, Directors of Students and the Deputy
Principal work together with teaching staff to promote student wellbeing.
Our International Student Co-ordinator, Director of Students (Residential)
and Boarding House staff help students to manage the challenges of living
away from home. Specialist support staff also include a School Chaplain,
School Counsellors, Careers Counsellor, Head of Extended Curriculum, Head
of Learning Strategies, Individual Differences staff and Health Officer.
These staff are committed to student wellbeing; assisting students to make
good decisions, gain personal skills, build confidence and self-respect and
reach their academic potential.
