The Melbourne Girls Grammar Snowsports Program has been established
to promote and develop excellence in competitive snowsports while educating
participants about the health, fitness and social benefits of snowsport
participation.
The Program not only benefits the students through the challenges
they face but also encourages the girls to come together with their
families to form the MGGS Snowsport Community.
MGGS offers snowsports to students from Prep to Year 12 and students
of all abilities are encouraged to participate in one or many of the
disciplines offered (Cross Country, Giant Slalom, Skier and Boarder Cross
and Moguls) regardless of their ability.
The Program begins in Term 2 with the commencement of the Dryland
Training Program and culminates with the school team competing in the
Victorian Interschool Championships. A number of camps are also offered
throughout the Ski Season with a 5 Day Development Camp offered during the
Term 2 Holidays along with two further Skill Development Weekends.
All students are given the opportunity to represent MGGS at the
Victorian Interschool Championships and teams are selected from MGGS Time
Trials and also attendance at Dryland Training.
Many of our teams go on to represent MGGS at the Australian
Interschool Championships.
