National Mathematics Summer School (NMSS)
13
October 2009
Congratulations to Kikie Miu (Year 11) for receiving an invitation
to participate in the 42nd ANU-AAMT National Mathematics Summer School.
NMSS is the oldest and most prestigious Summer School of its type in
Australia. Successful applicants are chosen partly on the basis of
performance in a specially set selection examination and partly on the
student’s own submission and supporting testimony from the student’s
School. Approximately 75 students from all over Australia are chosen to
participate in this two weeks program for the discovery and development of
mathematically gifted and talented students. It is a considerable honour for
Kikie to have been selected.
Kikie will join Year 12 students Stephanie Ang and Dana Ma who
attended the 41st NMSS and who have been invited back next year to assist
in the program. This is a first for MGGS to have students attend
consecutive years of NMSS and a great credit to Stephanie and Dana.
We wish Kikie, Stephanie and Dana much pleasure and a merry
mathematical time at NMSS in January 2010.
