My Student Account purchasing facility at Melbourne Girls Grammar

MGGS has installed an innovative cashless point of sale system that is linked to the existing Student Identification (ID) number.

The facility is available to all Merton Hall students to purchase items from the T Bar Café by using their School Student ID Card as a debit card.  Students are served faster and parents have the ability to deposit funds, keep track of all spending and view account balances using the internet or telephone (both fixed line and mobile) anytime and from almost anywhere.  The student’s photo is visible during the purchase for security and identification purposes.

The system will assist in the financial education of MGGS students through online banking and debit card transactions without the risk of accruing debt.

Initially the Smart Card system is being introduced in the T Bar Café but ultimately it will expand to include other areas of the School where cash is usually required, thereby limiting the risk of loss or theft.

The benefits and convenience of being able to significantly reduce the amount of cash handling at school whilst providing a facility where parents can interact (via online web portal), guide, budget and account for the funds should save both parents and the School a significant amount of time and effort in the provision, management and payment of School provided services.
