Our Mission
The Old
Grammarians Society is committed to facilitating and actively encouraging
the continued involvement of all Old Grammarians in the wider community of
Melbourne Girls Grammar with a view to ensuring the continued wellbeing of
our School and its Old Grammarians.
The
Society implements its Mission by supporting the School to continue its
educational heritage through:

representation
on and membership of the Merton Hall
Foundation,
|
|

|
working
with the Parents’
Association to develop events that benefit fund-raising for the
School and the Scholarships of the Old Grammarians Society,
|
|

|
the
Merton Network providing mentoring and support for career activities of
students and Old Grammarians,
|
|

|
the
DJ Ross Bursary for a student with special needs, and
|
|

|
the
Old Grammarians Scholarship for a daughter of an Old Grammarian.
|
The Society represents the School at events held by past student
associations at other schools.
The Society promotes fellowship between Old Grammarians through:

dissemination of information and reports in i.e, the
School Magazine and activities organised within Melbourne Victoria, interstate and overseas,
|
|

|
reunions - every ten years,
the biennial 51+Year reunion, special groups like Boarders and the 2008
Reunion of Girls of Miss Nina Crone’s years as Principal,
|
|

|
interstate and Overseas Branch activities, and
|
|

|
Golf, Tennis, Annual Card & Games Day.
|
The Society supports recent Old Grammarians through:
|

|
the Gilman Jones
Scholarship for Year 12 students to aid their university education,
|
|

|
orientation to the Old Grammarians Society for Year 12 Students,
|
|

|
the Leavers Cocktail Party in Term 1, and
|
|

|
sporting and social contact
through the Melbourne Old Girls Netball Club – MOGs, the Annual Golf Day
and Interschools Tennis Cup
|
