The Middle Years – A Time of Transition
The Middle School (Years 7, 8 and 9) encompasses a critical phase of
personal and intellectual development, which varies enormously from girl to
girl.
Middle School years are exciting and challenging; they are the years
of transition from primary into secondary school and from young girl to
young woman. Our girls are supported in this vital transition by the
internal pastoral care structure and a relevant and engaging curriculum
which together aim to foster self-discipline, independence,
interdependence, a sense of community and resilience for the senior years
and beyond.
Middle School Philosophy
“…The Middle School years should foster the development of
leadership, independence, interdependence and responsibility through
education which teaches: competence, conscience, compassion, citizenship,
commitment and confidence…”
