Boarders may be contacted by phone at the following times:

Weekdays
7.15am – 8.00am

3.30pm – 5.30pm

8.30pm – 9.30pm

Weekends (taking bed times into account)

Saturday: 8.30am – 10.00pm

Sunday:   8.30pm – 10.00pm

Please note that students cannot be contacted during study or meal times.

All girls are given an email address and the use of email is recommended for easy and effective communication with them. Girls have the ability to check their email accounts in the Boarding Houses.

The sending of letters and cards is encouraged. To assist with the handling of mail at the School, please address letters and parcels as follows:

School Newsletters

The fortnightly School newsletter (Messenger) and the boarders' internal term newsletter are posted and emailed to families of boarders to allow them to be informed about School and Boarding House activities, achievements, and forthcoming events. Boarding has a regular section in our online School Newsletter. To ensure the School has your up-to-date contact address, telephone number and email address, email: records@mggs.vic.edu.au or check in Parent Lounge.

Weekly Boarding Email

The Director of Students, Residential sends an weekly email update to all boarding families that keeps distant parents very up to date with the girls’ and Boarding House happenings.

Boarders’ Parents Committee

All boarders’ parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in the Boarders' Parents Committee, a support group that discusses matters related to boarding and organises activities for boarders and parents as needed. The group also enables the parents/guardians of boarders to be involved in the wider community of MGGS and to assist in improving communication between School and home.  Meetings are held in the Dining Hall on the last day of every term.
