Technology
pervades all levels of education at MGGS. From our early learners through
to VCE, technology is not so much about productivity as it is about
learning, innovation, creativity and collaboration.
Both
teachers and students are continually exploring the possible applications
of technology in the learning process. This continual exploration of the
possible uses of technology in education is ideally suited to the learning
environment of our School.
For
teachers technology provides an engaging and effective way to support
learning.
Digital
photography and recording enables a high level of communication in our
Early Learning Centre along with the password protected Parents Lounge
located on the School website.
All Junior School classrooms are
equipped with Interactive Whiteboards and these are another medium through
which students can learn, construct and exhibit material.
From
Year 5 the notebook program provides students with the opportunity to
navigate, construct and publish and to collaborate with others on a
worldwide basis With specialist software the technology is able to provide
problem solving opportunities, create and display artwork and animations,
facilitate multimedia presentations and musical compositions and enable
students to engage in the design process while increasing their digital
fluency.
Our ICT
department provides mentoring and technical support for staff to encourage
innovation in the delivery of curriculum. Repair and maintenance service
for student notebooks ensures minimum disruption for students. Go to a more detailed explanation of our notebook
program.
